The Easiest Ways to Keep Your Floors Clean

The Easiest Ways to Keep Your Floors Clean

Cleaning is not a favourite pastime of many people, even though almost everyone loves the benefits of a clean house. The floor is no exception to that rule. A floor can be tough to clean, but it’s easier than you think. Take a look at a few secrets now.

  • Ceramic Tile: This is one of the most versatile materials when it comes to cleaning. The tiles are tough and can take some scrubbing, but you might want to avoid anything too abrasive on them to avoid scratching. Sweep daily with a broom or dust mop. Using a mild detergent in some warm water, mop with either a rag type mop or a chamois mop. Sponge mops may work, but won’t reach into the grout between the tiles like the rag mop will. You can also use a solution made with vinegar and water to rinse with, which will give your floor a nice shiny finish.

  • Wood Floors: Wood deserves special treatment simply because it is easily damaged if the wrong products are used on it. Care for your wood floors by taking precautions against scratching them. Sweep or dust mop daily. Deep clean by using a wood floor approved cleanser to mop. Never use anything with bleach or ammonia in it on a wood floor. Also, if there is a spill on a wood floor, make sure you clean it up right away to avoid staining or discoloring the spill area.

  • Vinyl: Vinyl floors may be some of the easiest to clean because they are able to hold up well under even more abrasive cleansers. Regular sweeping and mopping is great to keep them looking nice.

Your clean floors will give the entire room a cleaner look. For more information about keeping your floors clean and ideas of how to care for them, visit https://www.wood4floors.co.uk/guides-and-info/ .
